How much time do you spend "wiring" your parts to hang in the electrolyte? It was taking me as long to wire the parts as it did to actually plate them. It clearly wasn't going to work for me. I had many hundreds of parts to eventually plate, and something had to be done to better accomplish that, so I set about to devise something. See "Design Considerations"
The solution here is workable, but not yet ideal. It has some limitations (see "Practical Considerations"), and could do with some more thought, but I share it in hopes someone can use it and possibly improve it.
It is NOT a "universal" design, but was made to specifically fit the plating tank I use. It was a pure "trial-and-error" exercise, so there are no measurements or dimensions. Parts are readily available from any decent hardware store, but there are no absolutes. You'll have to adapt the general design to fit your tank, using whatever you find most suitable.
