The "other" right way Although not "technically" correct, the second set of pictures is mechanically OK, AS LONG AS YOU DON"T INSTALL THE OIL PUMP THIS WAY! Here, #4 is on the compression stroke, while #1 is on the exhaust stroke Rotate the crankshaft 360º, and the marks will again line up as in the first pictures. NOW install the oil pump. |
